This weekend the Fall decor went away and I ventured to the back of the attic and found all my Christmas decorations. I can’t wait to feel that cozy Christmas atmosphere in my home. When my boys were young, we would begin to decorate our house the week after Thanksgiving starting with our wreaths and mantel. My boys would be so excited to hang their stockings even though they would stare anxiously at them for a month waiting for Santa to come. Each week we would add a little something new to the decorating process; this would keep it fresh and add a little more excitement to the countdown.
My boys are now grown men and they don’t show quite the same enthusiasm for the Christmas countdown as they use to. But, you can still see their eyes brighten a little when they see the stockings go up or smell the fresh wreath on the front door; they notice the trivial things. I can’t help but feel nostalgic as I look at all those hand-made decorations that I have held onto for all these years. It still delights me to add something new each year to our Christmas Decorations.
These days I look to my grandchildren to show me that spark of Christmas spirit. Nothing makes the heart feel warmer than a child during the Christmas Season.

Cut Your Own Christmas Trees– Take your whole family on a hayride to the Christmas tree fields to select your tree. We provide a saw for you to cut the tree down. We haul the tree back, wrap it up and even tie it to your car! Select from any cut your own tree for just $69.99 plus tax! Everything is included for one price. Linvilla Orchards has over 40,000 Christmas trees planted on the farm. The majority of our cut your own Christmas Trees are 6′ – 10′ Douglas Fir, but we also have some Canaan Fir. Hours of operation for Monday – Friday is 10 am – 5 pm, with the last wagon departing promptly at 4:00pm. Saturdays & Sundays are from 9 am – 5 pm, with the last wagon departs promptly at 4:00pm.
If cutting your own tree isn’t for you, we have the region’s best selection of pre-cut trees! They’re available in all shapes, sizes and varieties at our Christmas Shop and Garden Center. If you don’t find the perfect tree in the field, you’ll be sure to find it at our Garden Center where we also have greens, roping, wreaths and all of the trimmings.
Fresh Wreath Making Classes- Join us every Saturday and Sunday morning at 11 am from now until Saturday December 23rd for this hands-on class. Make an elegant wreath and fill your home with the scent of fresh pine. Let our talented Garden Center Staff guide you through making your own beautiful wreath for the holidays. Gardening with Children is Saturday, December 2nd at 10 am- This month Miss Marcia will be talking about conifers also known as the cone makers. This is always a fun class with activities. Perfect for the 5-10 year olds. Call 610-876-7116 to register. FREE
Build your own Terrarium or Fairy Garden Class is Saturday, December 9th, 2017 at 10am- This class is the perfect gift! Bring a friend and enjoy the time together. We supply everything you need to build your own beautiful terrarium. You can choose from a variety of containers and plants. Our knowledgeable staff will guide you through the entire process. Smokin’ with the Boys will return Saturday, December 9th 2017 at 10am- Our resident smoker, Steve is back and this month he will be demonstrating how to smoke the Holiday Turkey! Steve also surprises us with his smoked side dishes. Please call 610-876-7116 to register. FREE
